Electric vehicles are starting to enter the pre-owned market more often, with many featuring low kilometres and reasonable prices. Customers interested in driving an electric vehicle now have more options than ever, including Certified Pre-Owned Nissans.
One of the biggest selling points for used electric cars and SUVs is how much cheaper they are to run than their gas-powered counterparts. Depending on a few factors, like what kind of driver you are or how far you’re travelling, electric vehicle owners save between $700 and $1200 a year on gasoline.
Scheduled maintenance is also less expensive on electric vehicles. Fuel engines require oil changes, spark plugs and other minor part replacements to keep them running smoothly. Electric engines require little to no routine maintenance because they have fewer moving parts!
Electric car and SUV owners qualify for a number of government incentives. In Ontario, the government currently offers point-of-sale incentives of as much as $5,000 to qualifying customers and vehicles.
Electric SUVs and cars qualify for green license plates. These license plates offer a few benefits but one of the lesser-known advantages is allowing drivers to use the High Occupancy Vehicle lanes on the highway, even if the driver is the only person in the vehicle.
Some drivers argue electric vehicles offer a better driving experience than traditional engines. EVs are quieter and they generate instant torque, which means a smooth acceleration off of the line. Traditionally EVs also have a lower center of gravity, which improves their handling and ride comfort.
